Henders tells a darned good story! While shards of the story are firmly placed in the science fiction realm, the bulk is plain old spy thriller action/adventure and done very, very well!Aydan Kelly, an early middle aged bookkeeper, is accidentally swept into a top secret government project and even more accidentally believed by the project handlers to be a trained covert operator. Her blundering attempts to stay alive and avoid any of her friends being harmed are perceived as the competent trade-craft of a professional agent. An abusive first marriage and the death of her second husband have left Kelly adverse to committed relationships not withstanding a very healthy sex drive and Henders handles the slightly risque aspects that result with aplomb and humor.
I'm up to book 10 at the time of this review and will most definitely read the rest of the series and delve into more of Henders writing. On my old rating scale this series would get 5 Stars but, as noted in others of my reviews, I just don't hand 5s anymore until I run into that book of books which renders me comatose. I'm tempted to make an exception to my new ratings for the "Never Say Spy" series; instead, I'll tell you that I'd definitely give it a 4.9 if I could!!

This is my 7th trip with Diane Hender's Spy ... series. This one was really a good read. I could really binge read them all but I need to pace myself so I don't out pace her writing. Only Diane Henders could create a evil nemesis corporation named Fuzzy Bunny. Ya gotta try 'em!
I got caught up in the action right away since I've read all the previous books in the "Never Say Spy" series. It definitely leaves you wanting more! I must admit that I read it so fast that I need to go back and read again so I can savor the moments. Love the can-do character of Aydan Kelly, her men, and the action, I can vicariously enjoy her exploits in the world of spying and all the tight spots she gets herself in and thankfully resolves. Well thought out and well done. I like all the high-tech spy capabilities that no doubt, could be real one day. I have converted some friends in my group to fan status as well (not difficult after reading the first one!) Waiting with baited breath for the next adventure.
This series involved kane and Sudan going undercover to find a prototype within the enemy headquarters. They find themselves battling to stay alive and land a her plane with no pilot and neither one of them know how to fly a plane. Intense action and explosive outcome.

Unbelievable! I had to read this straight through, could hardly stop to cook. Diane Henders has the brilliance to make her stories jump out and make you part of the action. Her characters are so real they make you believers. I have all the "Spy" series and will continue on. Nail biting, tear shedding, heart wrenching, humor in all the right places. I mean, WHEW! I will recommend Ms. Henders to any and all that want an excellent adventure. I have other authors that I seriously like but I have to say that Diane is and will always be at the top of my list.
Aydan Kelly is an unlikely spy. She is a middle-aged bookkeeper with few actual spy skills, but she finds herself unable to just quit spying and putter in the garden or finish restoring her car. Instead, she goes from assignment to assignment hoping she won't get herself or her team members killed due to her inexperience and the impossible situation that prevents others from believing her claim of being only a bookkeeper.
The author, Diane Henders, delves deep into the old emotional injuries of her protagonist and the men in her life adding depth and realism to her main characters. This and the other books in the Never Say Spy series are very well written and well edited page turners that promise to destroy your sleep schedule and keep you begging for more.
Aydan rocks, complicated, grown up, human. Delightfully free of a lot of biases you see in other books, maybe because the author is female and Canadian? I have been laughing out loud, taking my tablet everywhere, gone to bed late, basically totally hooked. It’s written for grown ups, highly entertaining, both funny and keeping, me at least, at the edge of my seat. It’s action, thriller, crime, humour...
If you are looking for cozy grandma church on Sunday mystery books, this is maybe not your cup of tea. If you find the description following the series interesting, and maybe even middle-aged yourself, this might be gold. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Aydan and her antics.
Not often I binge read, but here I just got hooked. What a lovely concept eBook’s. All 12 books in a week, so glad it finally rained here lol. In wait of the next book I will go back and reread them again, this time taking my time.
Another amazing novel by a wonderful author. Those of you who are already fans of Diane Henders Never Say Spy series will find the same exceptional quality in Spy, Spy Away, as we found in the first 6 books.
Ayden is still trapped into acting as a spy inspite of her lack of training. No one believes her even when she tires to "fess up"; Fortunately her innate talents, luck, and great friends keep her alive for another round. Her relationship issues haven't gotten any easier, but I almost don't want that settle because too much would have to change for anything to work out. and I want this series t last for a long time.
Germain from the team in the first book is back! As are all of the people we have become so attached to as well as some we haven't. AND there are a couple of real twist. Wow. Have fun.
If you have not read the series, I strongly suggest that you do so before reading this one for a solid understanding of the characters. She has done a good job of clarification for anyone who chooses to read it as a stand-alone without retailing the whole series for those of us who have been following her from the beginning.
