This Kindle edition contains most of the fairy tales collected by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, as the title of the original edition states: "Die schönsten Märchen." It contains all the famous stories, such as "Hänsel und Gretel," "Rumpelstilzchen," and "Schneewittchen." For the most part, the stories in Plattdeutsch have been omitted, an exception being "Von dem Fischer un syner Fru," which is followed immediately with its Hochdeutsch translation. A few of the stories in Hochdeutsch are also missing, so this edition has about four-fifths of the original stories.

The edition comes with a table of contents.

Good reading practice. Wonderful collection of Classic Grimm Märchen, however I gave it only four stars because some words are outdated and might confuse beginners. Some stories even have low german or platt deutsch mixed in which I find odd but interesting. A solid purchase that I would recommend.
Geschichten sind weitgehend bekannt, nur ich hatte keine besseres Werk für meinen Fire gefunden und mit diesen Textenb bin ich soweit zufrieden ...
Das Buch enthält alle klassischen Geschichten und viele andere dazu. Ich habe ein anderes Ende fur Aschenputtel und neue Märchen, die ich nirgends anders gefunden habe, gelesen.
Manche Geschichten wiederholen sich und manche sind einfach zu kurz, aber eins steht fest es lohnt sich das Buch zu lesen.
I'm learning German and this is perfect because it is written for children so the German is simple as well. Even if there are any errors in translation I would not know it at this point, and if I ever discover them I will be very excited because it will mean I can speak German pretty fluently! It is a win win!
I've read these stories in translation, but decided to get the original version as a way to keep my German from going rusty. Since they are written for children, they are fairly easy reading. The stories, of course, are wonderful, even if some are rather weird (e.g. "Von dem Mäuschen, Vögelchen und der Bratwurst").
The edition follows the "Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales" (@1972 Pantheon Books) faithfully, with the stories in the same order as in the English version. Despite the lack of a table of contents in the edition, the book is easy to follow along in the English paper edition. Parallel reading in English and German makes learning German fun and easy! I gave it 4 stars due to the lack of a table of contents (would be really nice if it were hypertexted).
This book, like Hans Christian Anderson's Fairy Tales and many other classic stories I enjoyed as a child, is even better in the original German! For example, the names in Rumpelstiltskin are even funnier than in the English translation -- especially if one reads out loud. )
